Coming Soon!
On March 8, 2016, 5pm the Exploratorium will present a live webcast of the total solar eclipse in Micronesia. Watch it live here:

or join us at the Exploratorium for a free live program!
Our webcast team will travel to the coral island of Woleai, in the Pacific Ocean 500 miles north of New Guinea, to bring you this astronomical event.
Few people will see the total eclipse with their own eyes, because the “path of totality”—the area on Earth where you can view the moon fully covering the sun—is only 100 miles wide. Most of it will pass over vast, landless ocean.
The Exploratorium has been bringing eclipses to a wider audience via live broadcasts since 1998, and we'll be onsite again to capture and transmit this one.
