I am writing to inform you that journalist Patricia López has passed away. In 2014, she exposed the corruption within the Ministry of the Interior under Fernández Díaz and the police. After that, she was persecuted, repressed, harassed, and threatened until her very last day. Just recently, she reported being fired without warning by the production company where she worked so she could undergo tests for the illness that was taking her life. Her work, and certainly not her courage, can never be erased. She was an example, and for that reason, she was silenced. From here, we will always remember what this free citizen did.
