Challenging, hollow, heavy and can be absolutely perfect. This right-hander breaks thick, hard and powerfully and is ideally surfed with a bit of extra foam to get you in early. Bankies (aka The Vault) can handle BIG swells but also works from around head high up. It’s a wave capable of delivering the best tubes of your life. Watch out for the sneaker sets, it's a big reef and breaks in 2 or 3 areas, so choose your spot wisely, sit, wait and be patient! Don't sit chatting! Wide sets will often catch out surfers and they are guaranteed to turn up. Getting caught inside means long hold downs in very turbulent water although it doesn’t dish out the reef tattoo's you might expect, which is certainly a welcome relief to an intimidating wave.
