Special Event Title: The Role of Women In Climate Change Adaptation. A Commemoration of the International Women's Day 2021 through Inspiring Talks and Artistic Performances.
On International Women's Day and in the framework of the Italian co-chairmanship of COP26, Italy, in partnership with UN Women and Jobel Art for Earth, the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok is pleased to present an event dedicated to the key role of women in climate adaption. Because of gender disparities, women are often those who take the brunt of the dangerous effects of climate change in our daily lives. IThis side-event willhighlight how women leadership can effectively impact the way our society adapt to climate changeWith an innovative format called "Smart Talk", conceived by Jobel Art for Earth, artistic performances on the subject will alternate short and engaging interventions of the panellists. The combined effect of talks and performances aims to inspire the audience emotionally and intellectually and stimulate a deeper reflection on the topic.
Key messages:
• Climate Change is not neutral, and women are often the most vulnerable, and have fewer means to cope with the challenges posed by climate change.
• An enhanced leadership of women can give unique insights on how to identify sustainable policies to tackle the effects of climate change.
