Implementing Cubic Splines
In this video, we review the basic ideas behind splines and how one might calculate them. This is one of those cases where I think you should implement the process once yourself to make sure you understand what’s going on, then subsequently use the canned routines common in many math packages such as Numpy/Scipy.
This is a prelude to a future video on using splines to solve differential and partial differential equations so I wanted to make sure we’ve gone over the basics first.
