Repair starts around 06:20 for those who want to skip to the good bit ;)
This video shows the repair of an XBOX One S console with an E100 00000703 80910002 error. This procedure also applies to XBOX One original and X models.
Essentially, 80910002 is an SOS call at upgrade time that the console cannot communicate with the BD-ROM drive (it's either missing, has no power or has a fault with communicating with the drive controller IC). Consequently, the upgrade will fail and the machine will be stuck in an update loop until the error is cleared.
As always, check the simple things first - condition of and seating of both SATA and Power/Signal cables on both drive and motherboard ends, as well as physical condition of the connectors themselves. Check cables for continuity with a multimeter for all available pins if in doubt.
If all is good, then check the BD-ROM daughterboard PCB for any signs of damage. If there is no obvious damage, then the simplest course of action is to swap the BD-ROM controller IC as per this video to a donor board.
