Richard Laviolette's posthumous 'All Wild Things Are Shy'
'All Wild Things Are Shy' is Richard Laviolette’s final album and was released posthumously one year after he sought MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) on September 5, 2023. To provide more insight about its creation and Richard’s state of mind in writing and recording these songs while struggling with Huntington’s disease and the sudden onset of accelerated, severe symptoms, I organized a discussion with his partner and collaborator Sophia Bartholomew, the record’s primary instrumentalist, Rich Burnett, producer Scott Merritt, and artistic advisor and You’ve Changed Records label manager, Steven Lambke. We love Richard and will never forget him.
