In this video we are hiking to the summit of Old Baldy mountain near Shawnigan Lake located on Vancouver Island BC Canada. The trail that we took is the most difficult with the greatest elevation starting from Shawnigan lake rd. There are no washrooms on this trail and it gets really hot on a summer day since you are mostly climbing a rock. Bring lots of water. At the top there is a swing with a beautiful view of Shawnigan lake and on the other side you can see the Saanich peninsula. There are easy hikes to the top starting at Strathcona heights road, it is more shaded too. We even drove up one of them in a car before a gate was put up. AllTrails is a good app to use to find all of the trail details. If you still have questions feel free to ask.
