A guide/tutorial on how you can record multiple audio tracks in games and other recordings using NVIDIA Shadowplay and Audacity.

This allows you to adjust the volume of the in game audio and the microphone separately when editing your recording later on.

This guide also covers how to ensure that your audio tracks are synchronized by using an easy method to create a sync pulse when recording.

Download Audacity for free: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Ensure that you have Shadowplay enabled and working, and that it is set to record the in game audio and your microphone. You also need to set so that the microphone only records when you use a push to talk key for Shadowplay.

You then need to configure Audacity so that it records your microphone.

Now start the game you want to record, then alt tab out and start the Audacity recording your microphone.

Go back into the game and start the Shadowplay recording. Then hit your push to talk key and bang your desk three times. This will create an easily distinguishable sync pulse on both audio recordings so they are easy to sync.

Let go of the push to talk key.

Now play your game as you usually would and speak into the microphone with your commentary or voice over.

When you are done, stop recording via Shadowplay and stop the Audacity recording.

Export the Audio file using audacity.

Import both files to your movie editor - I use Adobe Premiere.

Put both files in the time line and use the sync pulses to sync the audio files.

Done!
