Challenges before girls to be a doctor in India
Indian society is conservative and family oriented. Even in USA UK Japan Korea there are more men as doctors.Teaching is a better option for Ladies than becoming Doctors, with the kind of societal pressures and our changing lifestyle.
Many girls choose medicine but later because of difficult lifestyle, in laws pressure,demanding patients and due to pressure of working in a competitive scenario in private hospitals many women doctors leave.
Some take up cosmetology as carrier or some work in small nursing home / hospitals/ maternity homes near their home or small time health centers where they get day duty at less salaries.
Girls prefer to work in Government / Autonomous Organisation like PHFI (Public health foundation of India). NICD (National Institute of Communicable Disease), NIHFW (National Institute of Health and Family Welfare) as the jobs for them is cool and conducive to their family life.
