...Developer Tibor Hollo Had Big Plans for Downtown Miami
Iconic Miami developer Tibor Hollo pitches a new project in this 1972 news footage -- a shopping mall at Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast Fifteenth Street and apartment buildings just to the east of the mall, which would be completed some years later as the Omni.
Across North Bayshore Drive Hollo built Plaza Venetia, a condominium that was initially unsuccessful due to the collapse of the Latin American economy in the late 1980s. Two hotels were also built north of the condominium.
