the highway planning is a basic need for the highway development Highway planning is more important when the available funds are limited and where the total requirement is much higher Highway planning is the basic requirement for any new project of program this is the actual program which arises in all developing countries like India the best way for utilisations of available funds is that the fund should be used in a systematic and planned way.
objectives of Highway planning:-
1. To plan for future requirements and improvements of roads in view of expected.
2. To plan a road network to give economic comfortable efficient save and speedy movement of people and goods the cost of construction maintenance and renewable of payment layers and vehicle operation cost has to be given due consideration.
3. To arrive at the road system and lengths of different categories of roads which gives maximum utility and could be constructed within the available resources during the period of planning under consideration.
4. To work out financing system.
5. To fix our priorities according to data wise for development of each roadlink based on utility as the main criterion for introducing the road development.
