The island of Java is the most populated island in the world. Java has a massive population of 151.6 million people, even though it is only a modest 128,00 square kilometers in size. It is just the fifth largest island in Indonesia and despite being only around 7% of the country’s total land area, an astonishing 60% of Indonesia’s total population lives on just this one island!
