Far Away Too Close is constructed around vocal fragments that surfaced during a live performance—spontaneous moments never formally documented or intended to persist. These sounds exist as traces: unfixed, ephemeral, belonging to no released work or authorized recording.
The piece does not reconstruct or represent these fragments. It extends them. Keyboard, bass, drums, and textures are built in response to their presence, not in service of it. The voice becomes a gravitational center, but remains materially unchanged—neither interpreted nor completed.
The title names this structural condition: far, because the source cannot be recovered or owned; close, because the entire sonic environment now orbits around it.
Occasional references to Maurice Jarre's Jesus of Nazareth (1977) emerge not as quotation but as residue—sonic memories that surface and recede without resolution.
The work's extended duration is not affective but procedural. Repetition and suspension produce a hypnotic structure—not as an emotional claim, but as the consequence of remaining with a single unresolved relation. The listener is invited into this suspension, but only as witness, not participant.

Far Away Too Close makes no claim of ownership, collaboration, or representation. It documents a solitary process: working with sound that cannot answer back. What emerges is distance articulated through sound.
