John Doherty: master fiddler, storyteller, singer and travelling tinsmith; was one of the last links to an ancient way of life. His musical ability and his reputation continue to fascinate all who hear of him and his music. In this documentary we follow the young Irish fiddle player, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, as he explores the life and influences of his musical hero and through rare archive footage of John Doherty, and of Donegal and its people, we get a taste of that disappearing world and a glimpse of John's musical genius.
