Dynamic Shield Effect Tutorial (Blender 2.81)
This video will show you how to create a dynamic shield effect in Blender 2.81. Though this tutorial uses Eevee, the same principles, ideas, and setup will work in cycles with minor adjustments.
This tutorial was requested originally by Danny_Bouchard on the Blender artist forums. I never finished it because I wasn't fully satisfied with the effect I came up with. However recently, another user on Youtube named BLΦΦD ΔΠGΣL saw the test effect I did in another video, and requested I make a tutorial on it.
Hopefully the quality is alright. I haven't been able to record in awhile because the construction near my apartment has been so loud. I've also done a bit of a different style here, wherein I talk and walk you through it as I do it. with little to no editing, script, or preparation.. This is because it is substantially easier for me to record this way.
