IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is not described correctly in the video, correct version: Setting material sets appearance unless a custom appearance has already been applied. It should show in the appearance UI which it doesn't in version 1.0.

This video provides an overview of the material system in FreeCAD. The Material Workbench has been introduced in FreeCAD 1.0 and it provides unified material system across all FreeCAD workbenches.
The overview provides information on how the difference between appearance and material properties, demonstration of applying appearance properties, such as color, transparency or shininess to an object. Overview of FreeCAD built in materials is provided, with demonstration of creation of new material and also creation of inherited material. Creation of physical and appearance properties is also demonstrated.

The typical location of user created materials on Windows system is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\FreeCAD\Material
