Removing spot welds can be a very tedious job. If only a few spot welds are being removed a regular drill bit may work alright. To prevent a regular drill be from walking off center, first a small drill bit can be used to create a starting point to help prevent "walking". If a lot of spot welds are being drilled out, a tool like the one in the video can save a lot time. The Tool Aid 18000 sold at Wise Auto Tools has a spring loaded pilot that prevents walking. The TA18000 also has a cutting blade that is double sided, so it can be flipped when one side is dull.
