Tom Ries - Hydro Tool [BLANK006]
There's a sense of mischief and upbeat energy that spills out of Tom Ries' music. Over the past couple of years he's made quite a splash with choice releases on Sturo, Paper Records and Parang among others, and now he's the latest to step up on Blank State following the likes of Robert Dietz and TC80. The quality runs high throughout all four jams on this 12", from the twitchy funk and sweet moods of 'Hydro Tool' to the off-kilter electro funk of 'Northern Porta', which sounds like it could have been released on cult label Boogizm (high praise indeed).
