CARBON COPIES - Bowhunting Basalt Boars, Australia - Official Film - Twin Elements
Twin Elements presents the official release of “Carbon Copies” a bowhunt set in the basalt wall region of north Queensland, Australia.
Taking place during the winter months, the dry season is in full swing and food is scarce.
Choosing to target known water courses, low lying areas such as flats with the last of the available fresh green feed and even one off carcasses from animals too weak to make it through the current season, we hone in on likely areas to find game.
As the title “Carbon Copies” suggests we encounter two exceptional boars whilst on this adventure and they just so happen to be very similar and near identical to one another.
The first, a chance encounter with an ancient basalt boar feeding out a little past first light.
In normal circumstances older, wise animals such as this would have disappeared in the grey light much before sunrise, however with food scarcity this boar decided to feed a little longer into the day in an attempt to put on condition.
The second boar, a solid mass of mud encrusted hog stumbles into a carcass that we were patiently waited off and throws his weight around as a mob of feral pigs all fight to feed on the rotting flesh of a deceased cow.
You will have to watch the film to see how the hunt unfolds; yet we can say that when lightning strikes it often strikes twice.
