Even though under California law, employers are not allowed to prohibit employees from sharing or discussing their wages at workplace, whether you should have those conversations with your co-workers depends on your practical realities and circumstances. Bringing up how much you are making or asking your colleagues about how much they are making can have a negative effect on your relationships with those co-workers. Be sure to do the risk/benefit assessment of having those types of conversations at your workplace before you decide how to proceed.
