Washing Machine Drains But Does Not Spin? - Top 4 reasons and EASY DIY instructions to get your top front load washer or top load washer back to working order. For the full troubleshooting article, please visit: https://www.appliancepartspros.com/b/...

Reason #1: Coupler: The motor coupling connects the motor to the transmission in the washer. If the coupler has failed, you will hear the motor running, but the washer will drain but not spin.

Reason #2: Drive Belt: The drive belt connects the motor pulley to the drive pulley. If the belt has worn out or is broken, the washer will not spin dry, even if the washer can still fill with water during the wash cycle.

Reason #3: Clutch: The clutch gradually gets the washer up to speed during the spin cycle on top-loader washers. If there is a problem with the clutch, the tub will still pump and drain the water.

Reason #4: Drive Pulley: The drive pulley drives the washer. If the drive pulley is bent or damaged, it can cause the drive belt to fall, off stopping the washer from spinning.
