Complex BASAL ANCHORS for Tree Climbing - BASAL ANCHORS Pt. 2
Welcome to Part 2 of my Basal (Base) Anchor Series for SRT/SRS for Tree Climbing where I will discuss and demonstrate several different complex anchors that a climber can use to anchor their rope to the base of a tree.

All of the systems that I will show in this video are lowerable, meaning that someone on the ground can lower a climber down to safety by either using a variety of clever devices that are a part of the anchor itself, or by using a second doubled rope (MRS) arrangement (such as a Hitch Climber setup) connected to an Alpine Butterfly knot pre-installed on the climber's rope a few feet above where the basal anchor wraps around the tree. Bear in mind that, if the injured climber is connected to a limb somewhere in the canopy with their lanyard or flip line, and if they are either unconscious or physically unable to disconnect it, it will be impossible to lower the climber via the basal anchor methods. Someone will have to climb up to the injured climber and use a different rescue method.
