2JZ-GTE first acquired the Toyota Aristo V (JZS147) in 1991 before becoming Toyota's flagship Toyota in the Toyota Supra RZ (JZA80). Its mechanical base is the existing 2JZ-GE, but it differs from the use of twin turbochargers and intercoolers mounted to the air.
