For many of us, diesel and sports just don't go together in the same sentence, well... except maybe the tractor used to remove cars from the track that were lucky enough to encounter a crash barrier or their opponent.
When you hear diesel, the first thing that comes to mind is a Kamaz engine, covered in soot and oil. However, these are all relics of the past! For me, diesel engines took on a new light when I saw Audi's victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their prototypes, equipped with TDI diesel engines, left no one standing, winning trophies for years to come.
In Europe and the US, diesel engine tuning is a whole new chapter in automotive culture, especially in the States. But here, things have taken a slightly different path.
Today, my friend Ivan Sudzilovsky and I will try to tell you about the intricacies of tuning such a demanding engine.
We'll analyze the specifics of tuning it compared to gasoline engines and understand whether it's worth the investment and effort, or whether it's easier to just recharge a gasoline engine.
