Easy Friday Blues - Boogie Woogie Piano
This is “Easy Friday Blues” - a boogie woogie piano piece in the key of F that I’ve been playing around with. I’ve always loved the style and relaxed feel of songs like Bear Den Boogie by Albert Ammons or Kaycee on my mind by Pete Johnson. It’s this kind of style and feel that has inspired this composition.
Basic 12-Bar blues progression with a boogie baseline repeated figure in the left hand and percussive and syncopated lines, octaves, trills and variations on the blues scale in the right hand.
Recorded at the Master Piano Institute in Sydney on a KAWAI GL-20 grand piano.
