BIG PRINT 2021
What a feat! A 30x1.2m linocut print, carved by many hands, was created by the feet of many dancers on Sunday 27 June at Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns. In this huge collaborative community event, lino blocks were cut in a series of workshops in schools, regional indigenous arts centre and at InkMasters Print Workshop. A team of volunteers printed the block on fabric on a busy Tanks Market Day. Get a Move On dancers, Cairns Drum and Dance and ARC Drumbeats got the audience moving to bring the Big Print 2021 into existence. The resultant print on display in Tank 4 until 25 July, the Cell Artspace, Cairns, during August 21, then finally returned, in its sections, to its creators.
