Diaspora Dinner Assembly
Highlights from the MoAD Diaspora Dinner, an evening of international cuisine, lively entertainment, and insightful conversation with MoAD's Chef-in-Residence and two of America's Top Chefs.
The event was curated by Chef-in-Residence Jocelyn Jackson, who showcased an international menu created by Top Chef Junior finalist Rahanna Bisseret Martinez. Martinez, a talented young chef who recently released her cookbook Flavor + Us, provided inspiration for the multi-course meal designed by Chef Sarah Kirnon. Kirnon, known for her Afro-Caribbean fare at Miss Ollie's and Holder's House, crafted a delightful culinary experience for the guests.
Additionally, each guest received a signed copy of Martinez's newly released cookbook. The evening featured a captivating conversation between Top Chef All-Star Carla Hall and rising star Martinez, where they shared their experiences from televised competitions and emphasized the importance of intergenerational collaboration. The Diaspora Dinner took place at the beautiful new Southeast Community Center on 1550 Evans Avenue in San Francisco.
