The Sandbox RETROGAMING Game Jam - Shadow Lord's Challenge - Classic DK adaptation!
You remember the pain of the classic Donkey Kong Arcade game?
I wanted to capture that essence and I remember always feeling like it was impossible, yet it turned out to be all about timing and patterns.
DK haunted you as you just wanted to defeat him and this Sandbox metaverse version is the Shadow Lord who has his illusions throughout taunting and tormenting you.
Just like the classic - this is not for rage quitters!
But in the end you can defeat the Shadow Lord and save the Princess - despite all the traps he sets.
That's what inspired me to build this for the Game Jam!
Shadow Lord Mountain is a fun adaptation of the Classic Arcade Donkey Kong!
Retro details?
From the whole classic retro construction steel platforms on a black background, to the barrels and dodging things flying at you all while you try to save the Princess from a large beast (instead of Kong, we have a Dragon and the Shadow Lord).
A fun and challenging arcade style game with a Sandbox twist!
