Participating in a research study can require individuals to share personal, sensitive, and often confidential information. This series of short (1-3 minute) videos is designed to help potential research participants understand what it means to share their data for research, including why sharing data is important and the robust systems in place to protect their personal information.
This video series was developed by the Emerging Technologies, Ethics, and Research Data Subcommittee of Harvard Catalyst’s Regulatory Foundations, Ethics, and Law program. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to [email protected].
In this video, Barbara Bierer, faculty lead for Harvard Catalyst's Regulatory Foundations, Ethics, and Law program, introduces this topic.
