In volume six, Santa Fe's old surf line, Rich Scheid takes us up the California golden coast and along the beaches of southern California as the surf pounds in behind the many trains. From San Diego's Union Station and up the surf line we travel through Old Town, Sorrento Valley, Del Mar, Solona Beach, Carlsbad, Oceanside, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Anaheim, and take a tour of L.A. Union Station as well as watch trains come in and out of the Station platforms and pass the tower.
We will continue north of L.A. up the old Southern Pacific Line up the coast to Santa Barbara, stopping at towns like Glendale, Camarillo, Ventura, Dulah, and Seacliff watching trains round the bays at the foot of coastal mountains with plenty of great surf shots. We stop at Carpinteria California and take a good look at Santa Barbara, the depot, and its many trains as well as take a tour of town. Plenty of passenger trains as well as a ride up the coast on Amtrak's Surf Liner.
