בדיוק השבת נקרא בפרשת ניצבים: ""כִּי הַמִּצְוָה הַזֹּאת אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוְּךָ הַיּוֹם...לֹא בַשָּׁמַיִם הִוא... וְלֹא מֵעֵבֶר לַיָּם... כִּי קָרוֹב אֵלֶיךָ הַדָּבָר מְאֹד בְּפִיךָ וּבִלְבָבְךָ לַעֲשֹׂתוֹ". כמה שהפסוקים האלה מתאימים לזמן הזה, רגע לפני ראש השנה- כל החלומות שלנו לגבי מי היינו רוצים להיות, כל הטוב שעוד יש לעשות- הכל נמצא כל כך קרוב אלינו, ממש בהישג יד.

It's so fitting for this week's Parsha- "Nitzavim" (Torah Portion), where we read: "For this commandment ... is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. It is not in heaven... Nor is it beyond the sea...it is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart". And as we approach Rosh Hashana- that's exactly the message we want to remember. All the changes we yearn for, all the goodness we want to bring into this world- it is all within our reach, closer than we think.
