Google Meet Update Raise Hand Feature
The Raise Hand Feature is rolling out to Google Meet. Watch me demonstrate how the raise hand feature works from the teacher and student perspective in this video. The Raise Hand Button in Google Meet now allows students or participants to raise their hand when they have questions without needing to install an additional extension. Participants can raise and lower their hands and an icon will appear next to their picture along with a notification sound. Hands raised are shown to the teacher in the order that hands were raised and teachers are also able to lower the hands individually as they answer questions or lower all hands at the same time.
This Raise Hand Feature began rolling out on November 17 to various Google domains. It can take up to 15 days for this new update to appear in your domain. You will not see this feature in personal Gmail accounts, GSuite Basic customers, or Workspace Business accounts.
The hand raise feature works the same on computers, iPads, and cell phones (both Android and iOS). Even though the interface is slightly different than the video shows on the computer, you'll see the raise hand button on iPads and phones.
