“Google Cloud Profiler: Explaining where you spend $ in production” by Kalyana Chadalavada
For a service developer, it is important to know how services behave and consume resources in real time with real workloads. While benchmarking provides a window into how the code might perform, production profiling provides deeper insights that help identify hotspots in their services and help direct optimization efforts for infrastructure costs and performance. In this talk, we will share how continuous production profiling helps Google developers optimize their services and how anyone can use Google Cloud Profiler to monitor performance of their services in production no matter where their services run.
We will share some of Google Cloud Profiler’s capabilities and case studies in identifying hotspots in CPU, memory usage and understanding thread contention.
