Good afternoon. A pillowcase with a zipper is an essential bedding item. It's used to protect a pillowcase. It's very easy and simple to sew. Fold the fabric in half, wrong side out, and mark the width of the cover with chalk at 46 cm and 2 cm for the seams. Everyone's size may be different, because... Pillows are different. We draw a line with a ruler and cut it. Then we mark the length of the cover 73 cm + 1 cm for the zipper, draw a line and cut off the excess fabric. The pillowcase we cut out turned out with one solid edge, so we only need to process 3 edges. Go to the sewing machine. Fold the fabric face to face. Quilt along the entire length with needles so that the fabric does not shift when stitching. We begin stitching, focusing on the edge of the fabric like this. The fabric we selected should be dense, I chose linen. Needle 90, thread 40, seam step 2.5 mm. We stitch the other side in the same way. Now we change the zipper foot. Turn the cover inside out to make it easier to sew on the zipper, watch the video carefully and you will succeed. A special zipper foot comes with the sewing machine Machine. With this foot, the zipper is sewn on effortlessly, as if it were guiding you. Note that this sewing machine has a very convenient feature: the needle always remains down when it stops, which helps you stitch smoothly and prevents the fabric from shifting. Place the zipper against the edge of the fabric, slide the slider, and finish stitching to the end. Do the same with the other side. Start stitching with the zipper closed, almost to the very end, then open it, trying not to remove the needle so that the stitching is even and smooth, and finish stitching to the pillowcase seam. Now we'll iron the seams; using an iron will make it much easier for us to stitch the frayed edge, which will remain inside. Place the edge of the foot exactly along the edge of the cover and stitch until the zipper stops, and do the same with the other side. Look at the front of the pillowcase, and on the back, this seam is called a sewing seam. And finally, the last thing we have left To make a finishing stitch, I'll move the corner so the stitching is closer to the zipper. This is another very useful feature of this machine. The foot rests against the teeth, allowing the stitching to be evenly attached. We carefully stitch the two edges of the zipper to avoid breaking the needle. Now the pillowcases on your pillows will always be clean.
