INFORMATION

Here is an original recording of a Corsican choir singing this song:    • A Filetta - Passione - 12 Titres - Album C...   - at minute 40:30

I don't sing all the verses of the song in my interpretation, but here you have the full lyrcis and the English translation, that were forwarded to me by the person whom I learned the song from - a French guy called Nils Peschanski, during my participation at the Etno Histeria Orchestra in Slovenia in 2018. As you see, originally, it is a catholic song. To me the song means many things: It makes me feel more close to life, the universe, nature, God, Mother Earth - whatever you want to call it - a feeling of not being alone, of being held and comforted and knowing that after all the sadness and pains of being alive on this earth - that all of us go through in many different ways - there is a meaning to our existance.

LYRICS, Corsican:

TECCO

Tecco, diletta madre
Mi fermo a piè del legno

Acciò mi facci degno
Di teco lagrimar.

Vinto da tante pene
Mi trema in petto il cuore,
Dal duolo e dall'amore
Mi sento lacerar.

Santa Madre, questo fate
Chì le piaghe del Signor
Siano impresse nel mio cuore

English:

TECCO

Tecco, beloved mother
I stop at the foot of the wood

Now, make me worthy
From the jar of tears

Won by so much pain
My heart trembles in my chest,
From grief and love I feel torn
Holy Mother, you do that

Here are the wounds of the Lord
They are printed in my heart
