We continue our marathon "Emotional Balance and Spiritual Attitude: Support from a Priest-Psychologist." Welcome to episode 15.
Homework #15. Remember how we prepared for general confession and made two lists? People we harmed and situations we harmed. Now we select the 10 most important people from the list, and the 10 most significant situations from the list. The first on the list will be the person we harmed the most and the situation in which we are most at fault.
Now we need to figure out how to compensate for this damage without causing further harm. For example, we can ask forgiveness from someone we have the opportunity to meet. We ask forgiveness for our actions—we "sweep our side of the street"—rather than reminding them that they were also in the wrong. And we ask how we can repair the damage. If the person names something we can do, we do it. If we can't do it or the request is unacceptable, we don't do it. If the person has died or is no longer in contact, then we do as we've already discussed—we help either relatives or other people.
📃 If you've caused harm, you must compensate for it.
The same applies to situations.
When completing this task, it would be a good idea to talk to a spiritual father or priest. Ask for advice on how to accomplish what you've planned.
You can discuss the homework assignments and ask Father Alexander Gavrilov a question in the comments below the video.
