Are miracles really impossible — or have we misunderstood what a miracle is?
In this video from the Practical Wisdom conference, Oxford mathematician John Lennox challenges one of the most famous objections to miracles: David Hume’s argument that a miracle is a violation of the laws of nature. Lennox explains why that definition is mistaken, and why belief in miracles — including the resurrection of Jesus — is not in conflict with science.
Drawing on C.S. Lewis, the philosophy of science, and historical evidence, Lennox argues that the laws of nature describe what normally happens when nature is left to itself. They do not prove that God cannot act within the universe He created.
