Many people who perform a paternity test are confused sometimes about what they are reading when they receive their DNA test results. Often times the result conclusion may be located sometimes at the top and/or bottom of your test result page. Many people believe it is challenging to understand. Today we share with you the terminology used to state an alleged father is not the biological father of a child. Below is a brief summary of what you can expect to see in the conclusion portion of your paternity test result.
The alleged father is excluded as the biological father of the tested child. This conclusion is based on the non-observed alleles at the loci indicated (x). The alleged father lacks genetic markers that should be contributed to the child of the biological father. The probability of paternity is “0%”.
Please keep in mind the conclusion portion of your results will slightly change from lab to lab but they will be closely similar to the description above.
What does a DNA test say when you are the father?
Below is a sample description of what you expect to see when an alleged father is the biological father of a child.
The alleged father is excluded as the biological father of the tested child. Based on the results of the analysis obtained from the DNA loci listed, the probability of paternity is 99.9999998%. This probability is calculated by comparing to an untested, unrelated, random individual of the Hispanic population.
