I'm back at it again! It has been an absolutely crazy last week being at MAGFest playing in so many ensembles, meeting new faces, and reuniting with familiar ones. I am so grateful for this VGM community for their love of the music that I also have such a special place in my heart for. I knew I had to return to my videos with something simpler and more manageable this week, so I consulted some of my favorite piano pieces and remembered this track. World 3 was one of those worlds where the music immediately entranced me. I remember it vividly, hearing it for the first time and going into an absolute state of stillness, in complete disbelief how a couple of simple piano notes would have such an effect on me. Anyone who has played Super Mario Galaxy 2 also remembers that moment too, that sheer beauty that perfectly encapsulated the feeling of vastness and space, with its mysterious yet comforting feel of space. I just loved playing and recording this on a proper grand piano, regardless of the trouble of mic'ing it just right and having to play flawlessly; there's just nothing like getting that richness and natural sound from a piano that this piece so well deserves.
