#PaulineBonaparte did what she knew or what she understood to be better and more opportune to do, so that she could have glory. The path opened by her brother was an opportunity, but she could remain as insignificant and unknown as the rest of her family.
Pauline also wanted glory, but she also wanted to make herself useful. To her brother. And to herself.
And she found a way to live to the fullest what life had to offer her: pleasures, money and especially, men.
But when nothing mattered anymore, she had the strength to give up all of this, in reverse order. For Napoleon, who was her sunshine, she tried everything.
She passed away before she turned 45. What she left behind was a story, a statue and a few questions about the “true” relationship between her and her older brother.
