"Dewa is my soulmate and my anchor," says Monica Peter Artawan about her husband. The Swiss woman never dreamed that she would find her true love on the island of Bali. But when she met the local Dewa, she immediately felt a deep connection. Ten years ago, upon their marriage, she even converted to Hinduism.
"Dewa is my soulmate and my anchor," says Monica Peter Artawan about her husband. “We were both attracted to each other and found each other attractive.” That’s how Jamal Othman, who grew up in Münchenbuchsee, describes the beginning of his relationship with Frenchman Romain Haguenauer. Both work in the figure skating world; Jamal was a professional figure skater, and Romain coaches Canada’s top pairs. After a long-distance relationship, they moved in together in Montreal and married six years ago. Now they will soon be a family of three.
A reunion with Florence and Niklas Wibring-Stern. The Swiss woman and the Swede married four years ago but couldn’t move in together for family reasons. Now the time has finally come. Florence is packing up all her belongings and her nine dogs and moving in with Niklas. There, a house awaits her in the middle of the woods, which Niklas built for her himself. But saying goodbye to her daughter is painful: “Everything else is okay, but this separation hurts the most,” Florence says, tears streaming down her face.
