The Future Of The Luxury Kitchen
On Thursday, March 4th 2021, organized by AD PRO and Gaggenau, an expert panel shared what designers need to know today about the kitchen of tomorrow.
Designers Brigette Romanek and Nina Magon, architect David Montalba, and Russ Diamond, the president and CEO of Snyder Diamond, Southern California’s go-to showrooms for kitchen and bath inspiration, joined AD PRO editor Katy Olson in a freewheeling discussion about the trends they’re seeing in West Coast kitchens these days.
Romanek advocated infusing kitchens with what she calls “livable luxe,” a blend of beautiful materials, atmospheric warmth, and functionality to create a space that really works in all ways. Magon noted that as her clients have found themselves cooking at home more, they have discovered a need for more storage in the kitchen, and in some cases larger—or even additional—refrigerators. Montalba talked about how to play up the relationship between indoors and out in kitchen design, while Snyder offered insights into the technological advances he’s seeing in appliances.
