Boss IR-2 THRASH METAL | GT-1 EQ & FX in the FX Loop
Hi guys! I’m playing some THRASH METAL riffs and solos, Metallica-Inspired using the Boss IR-2’s Rectifier and Clean amps with its native IRs, all equalized by the GT-1. The Boss GT-1 is connected to the IR-2’s stereo loop for modulation, delay, and reverb, as well as a tuner, volume pedal, noise gate, and especially the equalizer. Direct recording. ►Hey! Remember, the GT-1 is connected to the Boss IR-2 effects loop and handles only modulation, delay, reverb, noise suppressor, tuner, and volume pedal on the expression pedal. Therefore, the wah, compressor, overdrive, and distortions of the GT-1 are positioned after the IR-2 Preamp/Cab. The compressor can be used sparingly, but the overdrive/distortions cannot. This function falls to the IR-2 and external OD/DS/FZ pedals. The wah will depend on your personal taste as GT-1's wah comes after the IR-2. I prefer using an external wah pedal as the first pedal.
