রাত থেকে ময়মনসিংহের মুক্তাগাছা উপজেলার বড়গ্রাম ইউনিয়নে দানাকুড়া গ্রামের বাসিন্দাদের সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে। শক্রদেশের সেনাদের সমরাস্ত্র আক্রমণ। ভুখন্ড রক্ষায় রাতভর প্রস্তুতি বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর। রাতের আধার কেটে ভোরের আলো ফুটতেই সেই প্রস্তুতি যুক্ত হয়েছে সেনাবাহিনী ট্যাঙ্ক, এপিসিসহ সাজোয়া যানগুলো। আকাশে হেলিকপ্টার মহড়া। প্রতিপক্ষ শত্রু দেশের সেনা দলকে পরাস্ত করে রক্ষা করতে হবে ভুখন্ড।
সকাল ১০ টায় আক্রমন শুরু হয়। সেনাবাহিনীর যোদ্ধারা প্রথমে পুতে রাখা মাইনগুলো বিস্ফোরণ ঘটান। এরপর আসতে থাকে ট্যাঙ্ক ও এপিসি সহ সাজোয়া যানের বহর। ট্যাঙ্কে করে টার্গেট পয়েন্টে আসেন বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী প্রধান জেনারেল এস এম শফিউদ্দিন আহমেদ। এরপরই আক্রমন শুরু করে চুড়ান্ত আক্রমন শুরু করে সেনাবাহিনী। কামানের গোলা, ট্যাঙ্ক থেকে শক্র দলকে লক্ষ করে গুলি চালিয়ে এগিয়ে যেতে থাকে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী।
এভাবে চূড়ান্ত আক্রমণে বিজয় লাভের মধ্য দিয়ে বৃহস্পতিবার ময়মনসিংহের মুক্তাগাছা উপজেলার দানাকুড়া গ্রামে প্রকৃত যুদ্ধের আদলেই আয়োজিত বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর শীতকালীন প্রশিক্ষণ ‘এক্সারসাইজ নব দিগন্ত’ শেষ হয়েছে।
সেনাবাহিনীর মহড়া বৃহস্পতিবার (১৩ জানুয়ারি) দিনটি অন্যরকম ছিলো স্থানীয় গ্রামবাসির কাছে। স্বাধীনতার পর (৫০ বছরে) বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীকে এমন যুদ্ধাবস্থায় দেখেনি গ্রামবাসি। শীতকালীণ প্রশিক্ষন মহড়া এক্সারসাইজ নব দিগন্তের সুবাধে সেনাবাহিনীর সক্ষমতাও দারুনভাবে উপভোগ করেছে গ্রামবাসী। বললেন, বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী যে কঠোর প্রশিক্ষন দেখলাম তাতে আমাদের কাছে মনে হয়েছে তারা খুবই পরিশ্রমী এবং দেশরক্ষায় নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যায়।
সেনাবাহিনীর কাল্পনিক এ যুদ্ধে যুক্ত হয়েছে প্যারা কমান্ডো বাহিনীসহ শক্তিশালী বিভিন্ন বাহিনী। চুড়ান্ত আক্রমনের শুরুতে বিমান থেকে প্যারাসুটে জ্যাম্প করে ভুমিতে নামের প্যারাকমান্ডো বাহিনী। পৌনে ১২ টার দিকে সাজোয়া যানের বহর নিয়ে এগিয়ে যান সেনা প্রধান এস এম শফিউল হক। যুদ্ধের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেণ সেনাপ্রধা নিজেই। যুদ্ধে সেনাপ্রধান কে সরাসরি নেতৃত্ব দিতে দেখে মনোবল বেড়ে যায় সেনাবাহিনীর যুদ্ধা দেরও।

The 9th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army took part in the final exercise held at Muktagachha on Thursday morning. Hundreds of locals thronged to see the army's war strategy.
