** TRUSU India Club Present: Rang De Basanti 2011 **
"RANG DE BASANTI" means Color me with Spring Colors!
We will celebrate 3 different festivals of India. India is all about Unity in Diversity, Food, Music and Dance!
** Holi (Festival of Colors) is a popular spring festival in which people celebrate by coloring each other, symbolizing unity in Diversity! They greet and hug each other while enjoying special treats!
** Ram Navami is a Hindu religious festival marking the birth of Lord Rama, the King of Ayodhya in the Uttar Pradesh province of India. This day is highly celebrated amongst the Hindu, mainly Gujurati and Marathi communities world over!
** Vaisakhi is a signature harvest festival from the Punjab province of India. It marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year that normally falls on April 14th in the Georgian calendar. Vaisakhi commemorates the establishment of "Khalsa" at Anandpur Sahib Gurduwara Temple in 1699!
