THE CHILDREN OF LIDICE
All wars are cruel, and World War II was no exception, with over 85 million victims. One such episode occurred in 1942, where the rage of one individual led to the destruction of the village of Ludice, its inhabitants massacred or taken as slaves to labor camps.
A local artist created a monument depicting the sacrificed children, as a record of these events and in the hope that such atrocities will never be repeated.
