One of my favorite things about Hong Kong is the diversity and accessibility of so many neighborhoods, each with their unique characteristics! We took a ferry from Central Pier to explore the little island of Ma Wan (horse island?!), wedged in between Tsing Yi and Lantau Island.
While I'm writing this and reflecting back on this day trip, Ma Wan actually is quite an interesting place to explore. But given the heat and my mood that day and considering how Hong Kong has so many interesting areas to explore, I was not overly impressed.... Ma Wan Island essentially is a very quaint residential neighborhood with community beaches, a huge Noah's Ark Park for children and the Ma Wan Park with beautiful landscaping architecture. It also is home to a few fishing villages.
