== 20:13 time mark: The Tragedy Brief Explanation==
Hope’s Peak Academy’s real purpose was to do extensive research on talents. They wanted to make an artificial “True Hope”, this program is called Hope Cultivation Plan. The Reserve Department was built to gather funds for it. From that research, Hajime’s new alter personality, Izuru Kamukura, was born. Before the research was done, Izuru murdered 13 people from the student council. The school tried to cover the incident, in order to hide Izuru’s existence. However, Junko, who knew about this incident, leaked the details to the reserve department students, which then sparked a riot. The riot expanded to online communities, to nation-wide, then the whole world fell into despair, also known as The Tragedy. In addition, Junko also did a brainwashing using a despair-filled animation broadcast. This was also the reason why the current participant of the Killing School Trip, except for Hajime, became the Ultimate Despairs. Except, the brainwashing video for them includes the stream of Chiaki’s murder. By Junko’s highly charismatic personality and brainwash, she was able to make all but one student of Reserve Department to commit mass suicide, with the total of 2.537 students.
And like what I explained in the first video, Junko broadcasted the killing game of the remaining students of Hope’s Peak Academy, and lost from Makoto, Kirigiri, and friends. But Junko was not alone in making The Tragedy happen. A group dedicated to bringing chaos into the world was also responsible for The Tragedy, and they are called Ultimate Despairs. After Junko’s execution, most of the members committed suicide, but there were people who remained alive in that group, and they’re called the Remnants of Despair, which includes Izuru.
