Azula Bandit" is a multi-skilled dance and circus performer; and mother of Soca-to-Me dance company. Originally born in South Africa she grew up in the North East of England. With dance and performing always being a big part of life from a young age, she went onto studying Contemporary Dance and Circus developing skills that took her around the world. After graduating and travelling, Azula continued building her career as a solo artist in Newcastle where Afro Arts and appreciation was few and hard to find. Inspired by her heritage and love for Afro dance, music and culture; she started Soca-to-me in 2016 hosting and delivering dance events for members of the community. .
Since starting Soca-to-me, Azula established a strong reputation in the North East for her Twerk skills. She's mostly seen causing mayhem, throwing shapes and flames around various UK festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury.
During her teaching practice she works closely with women and drawing in from her personal expiriences she promotes Womanhood by encouraging women empowerment, body positivity and healing through dance and conversation in a safe space."
